ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
You will be picked up from the airport or your hotel (perhaps you just returned from the mountain) by one of our representatives and transferred to your selected accommodation in Arusha. Here, you will overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come.
Accommodation
Mid-range: Palace Hotel / Arusha Planet Lodge
Budget: Tulia Boutique Hotel / Green Mountain Hotel
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
In the morning, you will be picked up from your lodge in Arusha by your safari guide. We’ll begin our journey to Tarangire National Park, driving along a smooth tarmac road through the gently rolling Maasai plains, dotted with scattered acacia trees. Along the way, you’ll witness the vibrant life of the Maasai people—dressed in their colorful attire—walking beside the road, herding cattle, riding bicycles, or driving donkey carts.
Tarangire National Park is famous for its large elephant herds and is home to a rich variety of wildlife. From the open roof of our state-of-the-art safari jeep, you’ll explore seasonal swamps, vast savannahs, and the life-giving Tarangire River. Expect to encounter animals such as zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, elephants, and giraffes. With a bit of luck, you may even spot a lion stalking its prey or a leopard lounging in the branches of a tree.
After a full day of game viewing, we will head to your lodge or campsite. Here, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner in a beautifully designed restaurant before unwinding and spending the night in the comfort of your room or tent.
Accommodation Options:
Mid-Range: Kudu Lodge / Karatu Simba Lodge
Budget Camping: Lilac Campsite / Panorama Campsite
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater
Rise and shine! It is an early departure to the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once you have reached the crater rim, you will drive down a steep track into the 600 m deep caldera to see a range of animals and birds. The caldera (collapsed volcano) is home to over 25,000 mammals, ranging from the “Big Five” (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, leopard) and more than 500 species of birds.
After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch in the crater, you will return to Arusha. But in the middle of the way, we will pass by one of the Masai villages to learn much about them. Then, after they accomplish the Masai activities, we will make our move back to Arusha, where you will arrive in the early evening.
